Mine is still not sending, exactly as detailed above as to all of the ports and various computers and ISPs I have tried over the past several days (since well before the crash as I keep mentioning in the support ticket.)

I am up and running...   It will take a while to get activity going again, but that is okay. I was worried about losing 10 years of work and data.  My apologies for trying your patience.  Mark, you are a man of your word....  You gave me your guarantee, and it worked!  Thank YOU!

It took me a little while to get email working, and I seem to have lost 3 days of email, but at least it is working now.  Maybe some will bounce back.

Thank you for all of your hard work.  As hard as it has been on us, it must be a 1,000 times harder on you!

Hi,

This is my final update for this evening.

I have completed my audit and all accounts have been restored.  I did find a small number in the C's that were missed and got those taken care of.

At this point, if you have any technical issues please submit a ticket into our support desk or send an email to support@webhsp.com.  I am not going to check this thread until at least mid-day tomorrow.

Thank you every one for your patience.

Already posted this but no reply and site still down -

My fellow reseller who hosts one of my sites (before I bought my own account but did not move it etc) put a ticket in because all his sites were down.

The confusion is you in reply said that he was on Defender when he did think he was on another server (breakout?) which is another server you moved.

Regardless of that all sites are down in particular ecofair.co.uk which I run a online shop on.

Any clues?

Site is still down.
So I have set up another account on my hosting (see previous posting) as a backup so you may see ecofair.co.uk
in any logs that show an accoun setup.

If the site does not go up soon I will have to redirect to the new space but I have no real way of checking if t will work as it uses mysql, ssl and other settings which I am not sure have gone across.

John, it's been a long haul, and you and your team's herculean efforts these past few days are much appreciated.  I also date back to Ventures Online, and this is the kind of effort you've been known for since day one.  I hope you're able to salvage your holiday weekend .. thank you!  Barb

Since 2005 for me. I appreciate the details on progress. Please keep them coming with lots of details. Most of us are resellers so we understand this stuff. Smiley

It's around 8:40 AM in sunny Las Vegas Nevada on 7/3/2010. NONE of my domains resolve. These are the most important ones for me:

MYSDHOST.COM

G17.COM

THEVEGASGEEK.COM

premierpanamaproperty.com

See my ticket number: KSN-54727 which I just updated. Thanks - Steve

I'm up. Thanks.  This was tough, is not an understatement. Review of lessons learned is in order.

Best regards,

I've been with you since the old VO days. To be fair, although this experience has not been pleasant, it's the only severe outage I've noticed in all of 8 years (the last one was caused by hackers defiling splash pages).

However, worst problem for me was being told in a ticket that my accounts were on defender when in fact they are on breakout, so my outage was caused by incorrect routing to the new name servers and had nothing to do with the hardware failures. A lesson there in checking facts I guess. The routing problem is still not resolved but I'm awful glad you guys arranged for the old server to function again with redirection so my business sites won't be still down on Monday morning. Thanks for that.

Yes it has been painful and I echo manyagem (hi J) who hosts one of those very sites.

We got there in the end.

Now many of our sites are down again because of an SQL problem.

Database Connection Failed
Error: Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock' (13) (2002)
Function Performed: CONNECT
Host/DB: localhost/website_content
Database Type: mysql

There have been too many problems since the migration to defender.

Hi Everybody,

We are happy that you are all back online. We are certainly walking away from this outage with a big lesson learned, and a new outlook on the hardware business.

manyagem:
I understand your concerns, they are certainly legitimate. Our support staff were incorrect and its a mistake that should not have happened and will not happen again.

If any of you still continue to face problems please open a support ticket and we will get your issue fixed up.

Thank you all for your patience during the outage, it certainly is appreciated.
